Changes at PPL that Will Affect You

Here at PPL we’re committed to providing a first class service. In order to improve our services, we’re making some changes to our processes and systems so you can trust us to deliver your payments as frequently and accurately as possible.

Also, for these improvements to be as effective as possible we need to work together in unity, so you may need to do a few things for us too.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Improvements to our processes and systems will be on going as our membership and repertoire continues to grow.  The most immediate improvements, due to launch soon will include:

  • New Repertoire Database – we will hold better quality information in respect of your repertoire. This will be achieved by higher data quality standards being required before the repertoire is fully registered. The work we conduct with you at the start of the repertoire registration process is key to driving the effectiveness of the changes highlighted below, and the further changes that will follow in due course.
  • Search and manage your own repertoire – there will be a new level of transparency to the Repertoire Database. This will allow members to view and search the database, with direct access for Record Company members to update their repertoire data launching at a later stage. We will also be able to contact you if and when your data is incorrect or needs improvement to enable accurate payments.
  • Updated Performer claims system - the improved system will be more user-friendly allowing you simply and quickly to register payment claims on a wider repertoire and track the progress of each of those claims, as well as uploading your supporting evidence electronically.
  • Improved account management and self-service- through increased visibility of your account details on our myPPL portal, you will be able to amend, update and manage your own account and receive regular updates from us.
  • Enhanced customer service- our service teams will have instant access to your information, allowing us to respond to your queries quickly and efficiently.
  • Improved Music Reporting and Matching capability – will improve the efficiency and accuracy of how we match the recordings that have been played to our repertoire database, so that we know which record companies and performers to pay.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU

Improvements at PPL ultimately mean faster and more accurate payments for our members.  To ensure this happens as quickly and as smoothly as possible, we need you to work with us:

  • It is vital that you supply us with accurate data. Recording data you give us will be fed through our own Data Quality system where we can assess its suitability and accuracy. We also need the most up-to-date data about you, so please make sure you keep us informed of any changes to your contact details. Once the new system launches you will be able to update your own contact details.
