PPL supports the music industry in its normal working day and does not retain a profit – our staff are proud to be able to make an even greater effort in giving something back.
PPL employees fundraise for various music industry and other charities throughout the year. A company Charity of the Year is chosen by the staff and throughout the year we raise money for that charity with various activities. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity was the Charity of the Year in 2012, and in 2013 our staff have chosen to support the Teenage Cancer Trust. (Watch a video about the Teenage Cancer Trust.)
We have raised thousands of pounds in past years with activities such as sponsored sporting challenges and bake sales, and regularly host a London call centre for Sport Relief. Employees manning the phones for Sport Relief have helped to collect £70,000 in the past two years. PPL also support Nordoff Robbins, a national music charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vunerable children and adults.
It's also important to us to reduce the impact of our business on the environment – PPL has recycling stations on all floors and we work with Julie's Bicycle to audit our carbon footprint and set future goals. We also have a Cycle to Work scheme that has seen many PPL employees choose to get on their bikes to work and reduce their carbon footprint.
