Lead and manage a team of support, functional and technical professionals and third-party service providers in efficiently and effectively delivering flexible applications enhancement and support, predominantly based around Oracle E-Business Suite, to meet the dynamic business needs of PPL’s Money In business units. This role will have day to day IT management responsibility for the support and enhancement of IT applications purporting to the Money In part of PPL’s business and is accountable to key internal stakeholders. This role will have overall line management responsibility for a team of support, functional and technical developers and analysts, who have a variety of skill sets necessary to support and enhance the Money In IT applications.

The role will involve working co-operatively and consultatively with a number of key business stakeholders including the Public Performance and Finance departments. The successful engagement and management of these stakeholders will be critical to success in the role as will scope, prioritisation and resource management.

Experience of managing a large portfolio of small to medium Request for Change alongside Business As Usual support activities will be essential for this role.

External contact will be with hosting companies and third party suppliers of services, hardware and software.

Sound working knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite is essential.

N.B. As the systems supported by the Applications Money In Team now require support approaching 24/7, it is expected that the person filling this role will be willing and able to respond to and progress issues and resolutions accordingly by utilising a PPL supplied mobile device.

Requirements:

  • Three years minimum experience in IT consultancy or other blue chip environment.
  • Three years minimum experience in an IT management role, including formal team resource management.
  • Successful management of at least two systems implementation projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience in the management of both package and bespoke applications support and enhancement.
  • Experience of applications support and enhancement involving multiple concurrent projects, multiple business units / user communities and that involved a significant element of business change.
  • Expertise in ERP application implementation and working with hosted environments
  • Media industry experience, ideally music industry related.
  • Experience of projects addressing the replacement of a core business applications.
  • Strong technical and functional background.
  • Experience in Finance and Licensing.
  • Good understanding of leading requirements definition and process design.
  • In depth theoretical and hands-on experience of project management methodologies, eg, PRINCE2.
  • Understanding of considerations involved in developing systems with multiple stakeholders.
  • Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertise.
  • Keeps up to date on training and continuous personal development plans.
  • Able to quickly understand requirements and assess the resource requirements and the timescale needed for completion.
  • Able to manage a blend of in-house and third party resources to deliver a high level of service provision.
  • Communicates progress on work to relevant personnel.
  • Secures commitment from others to provide resources to complete project.
