PPL Statement On Copyright Tribunal Decision

Following the July 30th 2009 hearing, the Copyright Tribunal has now published its decision in regard to the rates paid to music licensing organisation PPL, on behalf of performers and record companies, for the right to play music on TVs and radios in public in the hospitality sector (pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels, shops) and offices & factories.

One step closer for Performance Rights in US

A step towards broadcast royalties for artists in the US came a step closer to being granted last night. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved legislation to make radio stations pay royalties to performers when they broadcast their music.
