Following the July 30th 2009 hearing, the Copyright Tribunal has now published its decision in regard to the rates paid to music licensing organisation PPL, on behalf of performers and record companies, for the right to play music on TVs and radios in public in the hospitality sector (pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels, shops) and offices & factories.

A step towards broadcast royalties for artists in the US came a step closer to being granted last night. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved legislation to make radio stations pay royalties to performers when they broadcast their music.

PPL's Senior Data Analyst celebrated 20 years of service at PPL this week, Kirk Annett joined the company in 1989 as a Licensing Officer and has worked in various areas of the company before taking up his current position in 2006.
