PPL held its Annual General Meeting yesterday (June 9th) at music venue and contemporary arts gallery, Kings Place, London.
The guest key note speaker was Roger Wright, Controller, BBC Radio 3 and Controller, BBC Proms, who addressed the 300 strong crowd. There was also a special feature presentation from Ian Mill, QC, Joint Head of Blackstone Chambers.
Members of the audience included many of PPL’s Record Company members and various music industry executives.
PPL Chairman and CEO, Fran Nevrkla opened the proceedings. All business resolutions were approved and Peter Leathem (PPL), the Rt Hon Lord Smith of Finsbury and Michael Smith (Sony Music) were all successfully re-elected onto the PPL Board. Rachel Evers (Warner Music) and Peter Stack (Union Square Music), appointed as Directors since the last AGM, were also officially elected on to the Board.
Ben Lambert, Finance Director, presented the financial results for the year ending 2009, and Peter Leathem, Executive Director, gave a 2009 business review. A summary of these can be found here.
Members of the audience were invited to ask questions to the speakers before an informal networking session commenced.
