How to register a release

Registering a release is important as it can help to maximise your revenue with PPL. For example, some broadcasters might provide PPL with release information (e.g. catalogue numbers) when reporting airplay. Registering release information might make it easier for PPL to match that airplay to recordings. Some international CMOs that PPL work with consider certain release information to be mandatory for payment.

Frequently asked questions relating to this video

When I attempt to submit the release I get the message: “One or more of the recordings added to this release currently have a status of ‘In Progress’ or ‘Under Review’. You can continue to create and save this release but will not be able to submit it until the recording status is ‘Submitted’ or ‘Registered’ for all recordings. If all recordings in this release are Submitted, and you are experiencing difficulty in submitting your release, please contact PPL.”
Only submitted recordings can be submitted on a release. If you have linked in progress performers you will need to submit the recordings first before you can submit the release.
