Short-term restricted service
You require this PPL licence if you intend to broadcast recorded music as part of an Ofcom-licensed short-term radio service. A short-term Restricted Service Licence (RSL) allows radio broadcasters to include recorded music in their radio broadcast for the duration of their Ofcom short-term licence, up to a maximum of 28 days. Licences are generally issued for special events (such as promotions, festivals, carnivals and sporting events) or to trial a new radio station.
Please note that you or your organisation must have been granted a short-term broadcast licence by Ofcom before you can apply to PPL for a short-term Restricted Service Licence.
