This year’s VPL Annual General Meeting included addresses by Chair Charlotte Saxe, and the formal business was managed by VPL Company Secretary Camilla Waite.

Directors Peter Leathem OBE, PPL’s CEO, and Adrian Sear, Director of Demon Music Group, were retiring by rotation this year, as required by VPL’s Articles of Association. Both stood for re-election uncontested and were reinstated to their posts through the voting process.

The appointment of Charlotte Saxe as Chair, as well as the appointments of Alison Wenham OBE, Chief Operating Officer at Blue Raincoat Chrysalis Group, and Shamus Damani, Director of Business Affairs at Defected Records, as Board directors, were also ratified by the AGM following their appointments earlier in the year.

PPL’s Head of Licensing, Charlie Rogers, also provided an update on the organisation’s licensing activities.

VPL’s accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024 (together with the directors’ report and auditors’ report on those accounts) were presented, and VPL’s Annual Transparency Report for the year ended 31 December 2024 was approved.

The VPL Annual Transparency Report and Financial Statement are available to read on the website here.

As a further annual matter of good corporate governance, a resolution was approved to re-appoint PricewaterhouseCoopers as VPL’s auditors.

VPL members received direct correspondence and online voting information ahead of the AGM.
