PPL in Session: An Introduction to PPL

Event date: 11/11/2025
Venue: Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast
As part of this year's Sound of Belfast festival, which runs from 6-16 November, PPL will be hosting an 'Introduction to PPL: Get Played, Get Paid' session at the Oh Yeah Music Centre.

Starting and sustaining a career in music can mean a lot of hard work, so understanding your revenue streams is vital for any self-releasing artist or indie label. Whether it’s money from radio or TV airplay, or your music being broadcast in public spaces, we’ll be discussing how revenue flows back through to the performer and recording rightsholder.

The session, led by PPL Member Development Manager Leo O’Brien, will offer guidance and some practical steps to ensure that you are fairly rewarded when your music is broadcast or played in public.
