PPL Response to the Women In CTRL “Seat at the Table” report

PPL recognises the importance of hiring, developing and promoting the best people, from the widest possible talent pool – regardless of someone’s race, gender, sexuality, age, disability, background or any other characteristic. We also remain committed to maintaining and further developing a working culture that is fair and considerate to all. We do this by focusing on a number of key areas: how we approach recruitment and opening other doors to career opportunities such as apprenticeships and internships; how we develop, reward and train our staff and support their wellbeing; and how we engage with them on equality, diversity and inclusivity matters.

Last month, following Black Out Tuesday and the open letter to the UK music industry from the Black Music Coalition, PPL openly published its pledge to do more, and to do better, to create a more diverse and inclusive environment within the company.

Within our pledge, which can be viewed on the PPL website, we stated our commitment to address the lack of black executives at senior management and board level at PPL. We are already working towards this goal, as well as continuing to focus on initiatives that seek to address gender imbalance. Whilst more than half of our senior management team (Executive Management and Heads of Department) are female, we recognise the need to do more.

We welcome today’s call from Women in CTRL to publicly join their pledge to work with them towards a commitment to a more diverse music industry and we look forward to engaging with them further as we continue to promote this important agenda at PPL.
