George has released two chart-topping, multi-platinum albums – Wanted on Voyage (2014) and Staying at Tamara’s (2018) – making him “one of the biggest breakout UK artists of the last five years”1.
Staying at Tamara’s helped George to win British Male Solo Artist at the 2019 BRIT Awards and featured two of his most popular tracks: “Shotgun” and “Paradise”. Peaking at No.1 and No.2 respectively, and with a combined stay of 154 weeks in the UK Official Charts, these, and other songs, have helped George become an established name within British music. Indeed, both recordings featured in the top ten of PPL’s Most Played Tracks of 2018, a chart which uses exclusive radio and TV music usage data to find the songs most commonly played on the airwaves across the country.
By selecting PPL to manage his international neighbouring rights, George will benefit from over 95 agreements that the company holds with collective management organisations (CMOs) around the world. In 2018, these agreements covered 96% of the global value of the neighbouring rights markets for performers. These relationships, along with an experienced team of neighbouring rights specialists and leading data and technology, help PPL identify and collect significant royalty sums; in 2019, its international revenue had a record year, collecting £86.7 million.
