Fresh from winning five BRIT awards and three Grammys, PPL can share that Charli xcx has appointed us for the collection of her international neighbouring rights royalties.

Charli joins recent signings including Ice Spice, Kenya Grace and London Grammar, and is among a growing cohort of dance music stars who have appointed PPL to collect for them internationally – including Becky Hill, Sigala, Joel Corry and Lewis Thompson.

Since landing her first UK number 1 single in 2012 with ‘I Love It’ with Icona Pop, Charli xcx has become an iconic cultural figure, traversing the underground and mainstream, with her innovative style and entrepreneurial spirit earning her critical acclaim and reshaping popular culture in the process.

Her sixth album “BRAT” was perhaps the most celebrated album of 2024 and landed at Number 1 on the UK Official Album Chart. “BRAT” well and truly made its mark on the cultural zeitgeist, with Charli’s pop-up ‘PARTYGIRL’ DJ sets; collaborations with the likes of Billie Eilish, Lorde and Addison Rae; and a new tone of green in the social lexicon.

In October, Charli followed it up with “Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat” – a brand new version of the album including reimagined takes and reworks of tracks featuring Julian Casablancas, Bon Iver, The 1975, Ariana Grande, Caroline Polachek and more.

“BRAT”’s global success saw Charli sweep award season, winning five BRIT Awards (Artist Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Dance Act & Songwriter Of The Year) and three Grammy Awards (Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best Dance Pop Recording & Best Recording Package). She was also named Wall Street Journal’s ‘Music Innovator’ in October and Variety’s ‘Hitmaker Of The Year’ in December, as well as receiving the Powerhouse Award at Billboard’s Women In Music ceremony earlier in the year.

Kate Reilly, Chief Membership & People Officer, PPL said:

Charli xcx is a British superstar. She has carved out a hugely successful and uncompromising career, making a unique impact on popular culture and paving the way for many more electronic musicians. We’re honoured that she has chosen PPL to collect her neighbouring rights revenues around the world, and we look forward to working with her team to ensure her royalties reflect her global impact.”
