Chris Barton is a qualified accountant with over 15 years’ experience in the creative and media industries, having previously worked at Haymarket Media Group and Condé Nast.
He joined PPL in 2005 and held several positions in the company, including Financial Controller from 2009, before being appointed to the Executive Management Team in 2014 in the role of Finance Director. In 2018, Chris became PPL’s Chief Financial Officer.
Chris oversees the Finance, Distribution and Business Services departments, ensuring that the revenue PPL collects is accounted for accurately, managed efficiently and distributed effectively, making sure that PPL’s record company and performer members receive the payments that are rightfully theirs.
He is the Chair of the PPL Finance Committee, the Audit Committee and the Distribution Committee. Chris is also a Board Member of PPL PRS Ltd, the joint venture for public performance launched by PPL and PRS for Music in 2018.
