How do I become a PPL member and what information do I need to provide?

Performer and recording rightsholders aged over 18 can complete an online registration.

Under-18s can create an account online but will need to download a registration form that needs to be completed offline and then counter-signed by a parent or guardian.

If you are under the age of 18 and want to register as a recording rightsholder, please contact our Member Services team on +44 (0)20 8068 1054.

If you are the beneficiary of a deceased performer, please contact Member Services on +44 (0)20 8068 1054 for guidance.

Click here to start the registration process, via myPPL (PPL’s secure online portal). You will be guided through what you need to do.

You will need to have the following information available:

Recording Rightsholders:

Please contact us if your entity type is not listed.

The registration process starts with a few simple queries to help us identify which type(s) of membership you need. For example, if you are a performer who also owns the relevant rights in the recordings on which you’ve performed, you will need to register with PPL as both as a performer and a recording rightsholder to be eligible to receive PPL royalties. In most cases, you can do this by completing one combined registration.

You can also register online as a rightsholder of music videos.
