Royalty payment dates

PPL distributes royalties to its members four times a year. The following provides information of the dates of our distributions.

2025 payments

Date Payment Details
28 March 2025 International Q1 International payments are made when a recording has been played in a different country and PPL has a reciprocal deal with the local collective management organisation (CMO). Members only receive these royalties if they have signed up for international collections with PPL.
27 June 2025 UK – Main annual PPL and VPL payments UK PPL payments are made when a recording is included on radio and TV broadcasts and when it is played in public in the UK during 2024.

UK VPL payments are made when a music video recording is included in TV broadcasts and when it is played in public in the UK during 2024. Note that perofrmers on music videos are not paid by VPL.

International Q2 International payments are made when a recording has been played in a different country and PPL has a reciprocal deal with the local collective management organisation (CMO). Members only receive these royalties if they have signed up for international collections with PPL.
30 September 2025 MTV (VPL) VPL payment to independent labels from the licensing of the use of their music videos on MTV and other channels owned by Paramount across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

17 December 2025 UK adjustment for PPL and VPL  

Adjustment to payments made for 2018-2024 for PPL, and 2021-2024 for VPL, and also some new 2025 PPL revenue.

Adjustment payments reflect new information about recordings, including performer claims and changes to rightsholder.

Annual supplementary remuneration (ASR) ASR payments (sometimes known as “session fund” payments) are made to non-featured performers in some cases, as a result of the legal rules about copyright term extension. Read more about ASR here.
MTV (VPL) VPL payment to independent labels from the licensing of the use of their music videos on MTV and other channels owned by Paramount across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

31 March 2025 Performer claims deadline In order to ensure you receive maximum and accurate income from PPL you need to ensure you are linked correctly to all the recordings on which you performed in our Repertoire Database. You do this by submitting claims. Read more here.
17 April 2025 Repertoire bulk submission data freeze starts Visit our Help Centre for guidance on managing your repertoire in PPL’s Register Repertoire system.
4 June 2025
Deadline to update bank details on myPPL for June payment
19 June 2025 Repertoire bulk submission data freeze ends
05 September 2025 Deadline to update bank details on myPPL for September payment
