PPL coming to a town or city near you

Category:

In 2018, we attended, organised and hosted 160 events, 40% of which were outside of London.

Over the course of the year so far, we have taken our PPL in Session events to Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham and Bristol, and have participated and supported many music industry events and festivals. We were proud to support The Great Escape in Brighton, one of the most influential festivals for new and emerging artists, as well as Handmade Festival in Leicester, Liverpool Sound City, Output in Belfast, Focus Wales in Wrexham, Wide Days in Edinburgh and many more.

We have just returned from a second trip to Edinburgh where we supported the SAY (Scottish Album of the Year) Award in September. PPL was part of the judging panel, which helped select a shortlist of albums for this year’s edition, and award Auntie Flo, the overall winner, with a substantial cash prize. You may also have seen Peter Leathem’s opinion piece on the importance of the Scottish music industry in The Scotsman coinciding with the Awards.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2019, we are organising our member-focused PPL In Session events in Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff and Belfast. These free PPL tutorials cover a variety of topics, allowing members to maximise their membership with tips and advice from our specialists.

Join us at:

  • Swn Festival in Cardiff, 18 October 2019
    • We will be taking part in the panel “Getting played and getting paid” to explain how PPL can help you earn royalties from your recorded music.
  • Sound of Belfast, 6 – 7 November 2019
    • We will host a PPL In Session event for our members based in Northern Ireland to share more about the work we do and answer any questions you have. You can also join us for our industry panel featuring BBC’s Phil Taggart as well as our 1-2-1 speed networking sessions.
  • Northern Ireland Music Prize, 7 November 2019
    • We look forward to seeing some of Northern Ireland’s best musical talent on show and to congratulate Snow Patrol on receiving the Oh Yeah Legend Award.
  • Welsh Music Prize in Cardiff, 20 November 2019
    • We will host a PPL In Session as part of the Welsh Music Prize activities for our Welsh members.
