Roxanne de Bastion and David Stopps re-elected as directors at PPL Annual Performer Meeting 2019

Category:

The meeting was accompanied by the publication of PPL’s Annual Performer Review, looking back over the 2018 financial year. Key highlights from 2018 included PPL’s total revenue reaching a record £246.8 million – representing a 13% uplift on 2017 – and the number of performers and recording rightsholders paid exceeding 100,000 for the first time. The formal business was presented by PPL’s General Counsel and Company Secretary, David Harmsworth.  The meeting also heard an address from Performer Board Chair, John Smith and reports from Chief Executive Officer, Peter Leathem; Director of Member Services, Sarah Mitchell; and Director of International, Laurence Oxenbury.

Peter Leathem, PPL’s Chief Executive Officer, commented: “In 2018 we reached new heights for both our collections and distributions. Not only did we achieve a record collection of £246.8 million but we paid over 100,000 performers and recording rightsholders for the first time. Of those recipients, 94,750 were performers.

Our results reflect a strong UK music industry, with the music it produces in demand at home and abroad. I would like to congratulate Roxanne and David on their re-election as Performer Directors and look forward to continuing to work closely with them.”
