Duke Dumont has moved to collective management organisation (CMO), PPL for the administration of his international neighbouring rights collections.
The DJ and producer joins a growing roster of high profile artists for whom PPL already collects on an international basis including performers as diverse as Bastille, Jessie J, Paolo Nutini, Rag‘n’Bone Man and Rita Ora. The news comes as PPL announced a record international annual collection in March 2018 with £49.6 million being collected on behalf of its performer and record label members in 2017. PPL’s international collections have increased from £6 million in 2006 to nearly £50 million in 2017. During this period, PPL collected over £355 million internationally for performers and record companies.
The British electronic musician is well known for his UK Singles Chart number one singles ‘Need U’ and ‘I Got You’, and ‘Won’t Look Back’ which reached number two in 2014. His 2015 single ‘Ocean Drive’ also reached number one in Hungary and Poland, was certified gold in the US and its video has had over 337 million views on YouTube since 2015.
