Carla Marie Williams: 10 albums that have influenced me

As part of PPL’s celebration of Black History Month, Carla Marie Williams has shared a list of albums that have influenced her. Carla is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and performer, having worked on Beyonce’s album Lemonade, where she co-wrote Freedom for Beyonce featuring Kendrick Lamar. Other artists Carla has written for include Britney Spears, Craig David, Rudimental and Sean Paul.

Carla also leads a female empowerment movement called Girls I Rate, which pushes for opportunities and equality for womxn (in particular Black womxn) within music and entertainment.

The 10 albums that have influenced Carla are:

  10. Jodeci – Diary of a Mad Band
